About the Role
The Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing resort fleet equipment including light vehicles, heavy machinery, and snowcats to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on fleet and motorized equipment to maximize availability and lifespan
- Accurately document all work performed, including parts used and maintenance records
- Follow all safety procedures to protect yourself, others, equipment, and facilities
- Maintain a clean, organized shop and work areas
- Track parts usage and identify needed inventory to minimize downtime
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and successfully pass both a background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) check in accordance with Windham Mountain Club’s insurance policy guidelines.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience with diesel and automotive mechanics
- Knowledge of gasoline/diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and basic welding
- Ability to diagnose and solve mechanical issues
- Comfortable using power tools and equipment, including tractors
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong communication skills; comfortable interacting with staff and guests
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks (stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl)
- Ability to communicate effectively
