About the Role
UCP of Long Island is a not-for-profit agency dedicated to advancing the independence, productivity, and full citizenship of individuals with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. This role involves overseeing various residences throughout Suffolk County, ensuring regulatory compliance, staff supervision and training, budget monitoring, and maintaining the quality of care for individuals served.
Responsibilities
- Ensure adequate coverage of all residences through monthly staffing and scheduling.
- Manage correspondence with parents and outside providers, including day programs, DDSO, and caseworkers.
- Supervise the financial component of assigned residences.
- Inspect DDPs for accurate completion and documentation.
- Audit consumer records to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Coordinate and complete incident reviews.
- Provide weekly supervision to managers and assistant managers.
- Conduct weekly staff meetings for residence managers and assistant managers.
- Perform staff evaluations for residence managers, assistant managers, and the clinical team.
- Interview and hire residence managers, assistant managers, and the clinical team.
- Serve as a rotating on-call administrator.
- Manage subordinate supervisors (Managers, Social Workers, Applied Behavior Specialists, Nurses, Recreation Therapists) and directly supervise non-supervisory employees.
- Oversee the direction, coordination, and evaluation of residential program units.
- Conduct interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding/disciplining employees, and resolving problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university.
- One to three years of OPWDD management experience and/or training.
- Valid NYS Driver License.
- One year of licensed driving experience.
