About the Role

Floor & Decor Sr. Designer leads the design team, providing a seamless, consultative design service to build customer relationships and brand loyalty. Responsibilities include meeting with customers, understanding their project needs, educating them on project requirements, and creating design concepts that align with their style, lifestyle, and budget.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain lasting relationships with residential and professional customers.
• Greet store customers and support store design walk-in needs.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking, referrals, and store leads.
• Provide advice on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for residential and commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple customer projects from inquiry to installation with accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up.
• Communicate consistently and concisely with customers and internal teams.
• Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects and achieve sales goals.
• Support company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices.
• Stay informed on current and emerging design trends.
• Utilize design applications such as Salesforce, Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and MyProject.
• Participate in local professional affiliations like ASID and NKBA.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Design education (BA or AA in Interior Design) or 6 years of interior design experience in lieu of education.
• Combination of education and experience totaling 6 years.
• Prior retail/sales experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
• Self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Internal candidates must have 24 months of experience in a Floor & Decor Designer position.
