About the Role
Serving patient food, maintaining cleanliness and organization of patient workstation.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of patients diets and various tray line positions to ensure accurate meals to patients
- Operation of dish machine or pot washing station.
- Break down and clean up after meals.
- Maintain safe and sanitary conditions of tables, carts & equipment and service ware.
- Demonstrates ability to comprehend and complete job assignments as assigned.
- Uses all Personal Protective Equipment.
- Utilizes equipment in performing job functions as per department safety procedures.
- Reports unsafe, warring or damaged equipment.
- Maintains workstation in a clean and orderly condition at all times.
- Complies with Stony Brook Southampton Hospital Policies and Procedures.
Requirements
- Ability to read and write simple English; Understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
- Standing majority of day.
- Occasional heavy lifting when handling food.
- Attention to detail.
- Visual and auditory acuity.
- Able to adjust to hot and cold temperatures.
- As part of employment at Southampton Hospital, there may be occasions when travel to other locations is needed to support operational needs.
- Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Employee Health Services.
- Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
- Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen.
- Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
- Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

- The above salary range (or hiring range) represents SBSH’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
