About the Role

This role is integral to Landsec’s investment activity, with a primary focus on acquisitions and disposals, and plays a pivotal part in delivering the Group’s capital recycling strategy. Acting as the finance business partner to the Head of Investments, the role is responsible for managing performance and shaping financial plans for Workplace Investments, working across the portfolio to enhance performance through a disciplined capital allocation lens.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic planning and decision support to the Head of Investments, delivering financial insights to guide long term goals and strategies focusing on investments.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for Workplace’s operational capex, valuations and acquisitions & disposals.
  • Work in partnership with the Commercial Performance & Planning team & Group FP&A team, introducing and developing forward looking executive reports applicable to Workplace’s Investments.
  • Lead the bi-annual valuation process / external reporting for the Workplace business unit.
  • Act as the primary strategic partner to the business leads, developing action plans on monthly results to drive improved financial performance.
  • Drive standardisation of the investment appraisals and outputs presented for approval.
  • Ensure compliance and robust controls environment is in place and that approval processes are adhered to by the BU.
  • Primary financial lead for significant investment programmes across the portfolio.
  • Primary financial lead for asset returns across the portfolio, leading the annual 5yr IRR review with the Strategy team.
  • Undertake Post Investment Reviews of key investment decisions, coordinating the process across the relevant stakeholders.
  • Primary lead on support for potential future JV opportunities across investment and development assets.
  • Support CP&P and Group FP&A team to ensure accuracy of data sources, reviewing outputs of both financial and non-financial data.
  • Support the development of the CP&P and Group FP&A analysts, ensuring they are building their commercial acumen.

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Strong experience of Real Estate Valuations & Business Partnering
  • Proven track record of budgeting and forecasting
  • Highly effective communicator at Senior Leader / Exec levels
  • Proactive ‘can do’ growth mindset
