About the Role

The Marlene Meyerson Jewish Community Center in Manhattan (MMJCCM) is seeking a Leave Replacement for a Nursery School Associate Teacher for the Saul and Carole Zabar Nursery School. This Reggio-inspired, Jewish-values-based, child-centered school respects students as citizens with powerful ideas and voices. Teachers facilitate learning collaboratively with children as researchers, guiding and following group interests. The school is inclusive, celebrating developmental differences and supporting each child's learning and connections. Teachers partner with families to build community and are learners and leaders who shape the school.

Responsibilities

  • Working collaboratively with various teaching teams
  • Open to learning about the Reggio Emilia teaching philosophy and Jewish values as they pertain to work with children
  • Supporting teaching teams with observation and documentation
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Director or Associate Director as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or in progress) in a related field
  • Relevant experience
