About the Role
The Substance Use Services Therapist will provide treatment from a holistic, dual-recovery lens, working with clients to attend to their mental health, physical health, and social health needs. Therapist will also support client engagement with psychiatric evaluation and medication management services, Medication Assisted Treatment, and Peer Support.
Responsibilities
- Provide treatment from a holistic, dual-recovery lens.
- Work with clients to attend to their mental health, physical health, and social health needs.
- Support client engagement with psychiatric evaluation and medication management services.
- Support client engagement with Medication Assisted Treatment.
- Support client engagement with Peer Support.
- Provide flexible, person-oriented outpatient therapy.
- Facilitate group sessions.
- Utilize evidence-based practices with a practical, problem-solving approach.
- Maintain a trauma-informed atmosphere.
Requirements
- Current NYS license (LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, LMFT) or permit holder.
- CASAC II or Advanced CASAC preferred.
- Candidates with CASAC-T or CASAC-P and/or relevant clinical experience providing substance use treatment will be considered.
- 1-2 years of experience working with clients with substance use and co-occurring disorders.
- 1-2 years of experience working in an OASAS funded facility is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Commitment to providing quality services and outcome driven performance measures.
