About the Role

Transform data into valuable insights that enhance user experiences and empower our analyst community while encouraging best data modelling practices. Using a cutting-edge tech stack including dbt, Databricks, and Kafka, you'll define the standards that the team works to and build the data products that power decisions for millions of users.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams across our business to design and build data products that directly support our 26 million users to make more empowered financial decisions, serving the operational platform and CRM.
  • Build high quality and reliable data pipelines as part of an engineering team.
  • Uphold best practice standards across our data, from data modelling conventions and dbt patterns to testing, documentation, and observability.
  • Solve business problems creatively and automate day-to-day processes.
  • Take technical ownership of data initiatives, leading delivery end-to-end across multiple components, stakeholders, and delivery phases.
  • Investigate, communicate, and resolve data-related incidents with the team.

Requirements

  • Possess technical expertise and the ability to understand and deliver on business requirements and analyst needs.
  • Experienced in SQL and dbt, applying this to design and build robust, scalable data transformations on platforms like Databricks.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving production issues, designing pipelines with testing, monitoring, and maintainability in mind.
  • Experience with orchestration tooling (e.g. Databricks Workflows).
  • Write clear and effective documentation.
  • Genuine curiosity about the many ways in which our data is used to impact our business and our users.
