About the Role
Provide strategic leadership and tactical direction for the planning and delivery of global Formula E racetracks, temporary structural assets, and electrical infrastructure. Serve as the primary senior technical authority, synchronizing overlay and electrical delivery across multiple teams to ensure high-quality, safe, and budget-optimized event delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead the master planning, design, CAD venue reviews, and feasibility analysis of all global temporary overlays and electrical networks.
- Define and evolve global technical specifications for event power, including paddock networks, broadcast infrastructure, and EV charging grids.
- Direct and mentor a specialized team of technical managers, acting as the high-level technical authority in the Event Command Centre for critical modifications and incident resolution during live track operations.
- Manage multi-million-pound procurement packages and hold full departmental accountability for infrastructure budgets and international freight logistics.
- Ensure all builds comply with rigorous engineering standards, local environmental legislation, UK CDM regulations, and international health & safety frameworks.
Requirements
- Ideally have an engineering background with extensive, hands-on experience delivering international ‘Mega Events’.
- Highly astute, direct thinker who actively embraces a challenge.
- Confident communicator who isn't afraid to push back to ensure excellence and knows how to keep other teams accountable.
- Proven experience navigating UK CDM regulations and international construction compliance frameworks.
- Technical authority to oversee critical power deployment and venue builds under tight pressure.
- Sharp commercial acumen, data analysis skills and intellectual capability equivalent to an engineering degree.
- Exceptional communicator adept at building relationships across regulatory bodies, local promoters, technical partners and internal executive teams.
- Willingness to travel extensively is essential, with expectations of 6–10 event locations plus additional site visits for race prospect analysis.
