In dieser Schlüsselrolle bist du Teil unseres Banking Law & Litigation Teams und fungierst als strategischer Partner für das Management sowie den Vorstand. Dein Fokus liegt auf der rechtlichen Architektur und Absicherung wegweisender Finanzprodukte. Du gestaltest die Zukunft des digitalen Banking, indem du komplexe regulatorische Anforderungen in rechtssichere Konzepte übersetzt – von der Skalierung unserer Bank-, Trading- und Krypto-Angebote bis hin zur Erschließung neuer europäischer Märkte. Dabei balancierst du Agilität mit höchster Compliance und stellst sicher, dass unsere Produktvisionen stets im Einklang mit dem Aufsichtsrecht stehen.

Responsibilities

Work within the N26 Legal Department in our Banking Law & Litigation Team and contribute to the introduction and scaling of pioneering banking and financial products (e.g., Trading & Crypto).
Advise management and the board holistically on all legal matters related to existing and new banking, trading, and financial products.
Evaluate complex regulatory requirements and develop legally sound concepts for new products in a dynamic environment.
Collaborate closely with the Product and Compliance teams, ensuring innovation and regulatory compliance go hand in hand.
Act as a point of contact for regulatory audits and confidently manage communication with supervisory authorities.
Independently coordinate collaboration with external legal counsel, ensuring first-class advisory quality.
Independently conduct court and dispute resolution proceedings and manage significant cases across all instances.

Requirements

German full legal qualification with above-average results in the first and second state examinations.
Minimum of 4 years of professional experience, with a significant portion in banking and finance law at a reputable law firm or international company (FinTech experience is a plus).
Comprehensive knowledge of banking and finance law and related legal areas; experience in other legal fields is welcome.
Ideally, completed a specialist lawyer training course in banking and capital market law or hold the corresponding title.
Fluent written and spoken German and English; proficiency in other languages (especially French, Spanish, or Italian) is a plus.

Strong interest in technical and business contexts as well as digital business models.
Ability to work independently, make decisions, and represent them internally and externally.
Willingness to pragmatically explore new topics and legal areas and closely follow dynamic regulatory developments.
High level of integrity, commitment, and initiative; comfortable with personnel responsibility.
