About the Role

Seeking motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented Behavior Intervention Specialists for our Residential program. This role involves developing and maintaining goal plans to address individual behaviors under the supervision of a licensed Psychologist, as well as evaluating individuals and training staff.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate each individual served based on the results of appropriate tests.
  • Administer appropriate tests annually to determine consumer needs.
  • Complete a full assessment as part of the annual plan of care.
  • Conduct triennial testing on all individuals served according to New York State guidelines to establish I.Q. score.
  • Participate in the development of written, detailed, specific, and individualized program plans designed to maximize resident development and skill acquisition.
  • Ensure individualized plans of care are specific with measurable goals and objectives.
  • Detail therapeutic steps and assign staff responsibilities within the plan.
  • Set time frames for follow-up assessments of plan effectiveness for modification.
  • Evaluate each program in behavioral measurable terms monthly and quarterly.
  • Ensure goal plans meet state and federal guidelines/regulations.
  • Participate in weekly IDT meetings at each residence.
  • Participate in annual/interim meetings, special IDT meetings, and staff meetings.
  • Provide hands-on training to direct support staff.
  • Conduct on-site and agency in-service training to staff at the discretion of the residence manager.
  • Review all treatment plans.
  • Gain knowledge of and assist in implementation of all applicable ICF regulations.
  • Maintain contact with all psychological therapeutic personnel involved with the individuals.
  • Maintain contact with and provide behavioral information/feedback to the psychiatric services provider when applicable.
  • Perform duties under the direct supervision of the Psychology Supervisor and the QIDP.

Requirements

  • Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • M.A. degree in Applied Psychology, from an accredited training program (including internship) e.g., school, clinical, counseling, and educational.
