About the Role

This is an entry-level management position at UCP Long Island's 31-bed intermediate care facility in Commack, caring for individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. Management experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Direct Care Staff during shift assigned, ensuring quality of care and therapeutic interaction for all program participants.
  • Schedule and assign direct care staff to specific activities to encourage maximum independence in each person's daily activities.
  • Maintain and post scheduled assignments, adjusting based on staff availability and individual needs.
  • Maintain appropriate staff records, including time/attendance, performance, deficiencies, counseling, and training needs.
  • Ensure cleanliness and order in all areas of the residence, including rooms, bathrooms, laundry room, day room, and grounds.
  • Conduct and record fire drills and evacuations.
  • Relate to staff professionally, displaying tact, courtesy, self-control, discretion, and teamwork.
  • Be aware of and assist in the implementation of all applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Two (2) years of related experience in the care of developmentally/physically delayed children or adults.
  • NYS Driver license plus 1 year licensed driving experience.
