About the Role
This is an entry-level management position at UCP Long Island's 31-bed intermediate care facility in Commack, caring for individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. Management experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Direct Care Staff during shift assigned, ensuring quality of care and therapeutic interaction for all program participants.
- Schedule and assign direct care staff to specific activities to encourage maximum independence in each person's daily activities.
- Maintain and post scheduled assignments, adjusting based on staff availability and individual needs.
- Maintain appropriate staff records, including time/attendance, performance, deficiencies, counseling, and training needs.
- Ensure cleanliness and order in all areas of the residence, including rooms, bathrooms, laundry room, day room, and grounds.
- Conduct and record fire drills and evacuations.
- Relate to staff professionally, displaying tact, courtesy, self-control, discretion, and teamwork.
- Be aware of and assist in the implementation of all applicable regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Two (2) years of related experience in the care of developmentally/physically delayed children or adults.
- NYS Driver license plus 1 year licensed driving experience.
