About the Role
The Clinician will provide evidence-based ongoing individual, family and group counseling as part of a multidisciplinary team, under the direct supervision of the Clinic Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Fulfills training responsibilities according to Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie, NYS Justice Center, and OMH regulations.
- Adheres to all agency policies and procedures.
- Provides clinical services to 40 to 50 children and their family members through weekly individual and family psychotherapy sessions.
- Performs assessments to evaluate mental health and behavioral conditions.
- Develops individualized treatment plans.
- Conducts individual, family, and group counseling utilizing evidence-based practice.
- Utilizes outcome tools to determine patient progress.
- Coordinates care with primary care, other specialty providers, schools, and families.
- Arranges for appropriate care within the integrated healthcare system or through outside providers.
- Ensures client rights are protected and appropriate interventions are provided.
- Participates in departmental activities such as case conferences.
- Completes all clinical documentation to sustain regulations and requirements outlined by the Office of Mental Health.
- Maintains documentation required for the client medical record and utilization management within agency compliance timelines.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling
- LMSW, LCSW, LMHC or license eligible
- One (1) year of experience providing evidence-based treatments for a variety of mental health and behavioral diagnoses for children, adolescents, and adults
- Valid NYS Driver License in good condition
- Must complete and pass a pre-employment physical, PPD and drug screen and an annual physical and PPD.
- Three (3) years of experience providing evidence-based treatments for a variety of mental health and behavioral diagnoses for children, adolescents, and adults (Preferred)
- Strong written and oral communication skills (Preferred)
- Experience with Medicaid/managed care and other types of client billing (Preferred)
