About the Role

Supports the overall operation of the surgery department including procedure room preparation, patient transportation, and ensuring cleanliness of the facilities. Oversees the inventory process, ensuring facilities are well-stocked and orders additional supplies as necessary. Responsible for the maintenance and availability of equipment used in procedures in the Operating Room on a daily basis. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety to help deliver optimal patient care. May also be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or orienting other staff to the department.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
  • 1 year recent relevant experience
  • General knowledge of surgical tools, procedures, views, and equipment
  • Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • Written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods
  • General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to accomplish multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
  • Ability to identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers
