About the Role

Cognex is seeking a Project Manager with external customer-facing experience to join our dynamic team. This role involves integrating Cognex solutions, engaging in pre-sales activities, assessing risks, and delivering cutting-edge technology to meet customer expectations for quality, delivery, and service, while ensuring Cognex's growth and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and align internal and external resources cost-effectively to meet project schedules.
• Maintain and develop effective customer relationships both pre- and post-sale.
• Develop project schedules, track progress against milestones, and communicate project status to stakeholders.
• Identify, create, and track scope, communicating scope changes and ensuring project completion and customer acceptance.
• Manage all project documentation throughout its lifecycle, providing necessary details for service teams or customers.
• Be on-call and respond to customer emergencies, with availability for evening, weekend, or varying work patterns.
• Travel between 20-50% of the time, varying based on region, time of year, and customer needs.

Requirements

• Solid experience or familiarity with Project Management processes and PMI standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid customer relationship maintenance skills with the ability to influence.
• Solid knowledge and understanding of the appropriate industry segment and automation technology, including design for manufacturability, assembly, test, and manufacturing test development on industrial, electro-mechanical products.
• Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, collaborate, and influence internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Solid understanding of complicated data analysis theory, project cost estimation, and profitability analysis.
• Ability to plan difficult schedules by breaking down tasks to avoid scope creep.
• Solid decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, risks, and develop mitigation plans.
• Solid understanding of business processes, order proceeding, and basic project finance knowledge.
• Ability to handle routine customer situations and escalate when necessary.
• Proficiency in English.
• Must possess English language proficiency as a minimum for the role.
