About the Role

The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator Dr. Samuel Becker in the Departments of Medicine and Microbiology & Immunology. The Becker lab studies adaptive immunity in the context of human bacterial pathogens and tick-borne diseases, focusing on the role of antigen-specific CD4+ T cells. The incumbent will conduct research and ensure experiments follow Stony Brook University policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Conduct research experiments in the field of immunology within the predetermined research scope and methodology.
Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations.
Assist in grant writing.
Perform lab maintenance, including equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies.
Attend Scientific Conferences and Meetings.

Requirements

Doctoral Degree (or foreign equivalent) in immunology or a closely related field.
Experience with flow cytometry.
Experience with cellular immunophenotyping.
Experience with immunology studies with mice, humans or both.
Record of first-author publication(s).
