About the Role

The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator Dr. Samuel Becker in the Departments of Medicine and Microbiology & Immunology. The Becker lab studies adaptive immunity in the context of human bacterial pathogens and tick-borne diseases, focusing on the role of antigen-specific CD4+ T cells. The incumbent will conduct research and ensure experiments follow Stony Brook University policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research experiments in the field of immunology within the predetermined research scope and methodology.
  • Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations.
  • Assist in grant writing.
  • Perform lab maintenance, including equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies.
  • Attend Scientific Conferences and Meetings.

Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree (or foreign equivalent) in immunology or a closely related field.
  • Experience with flow cytometry.
  • Experience with cellular immunophenotyping.
  • Experience with immunology studies with mice, humans or both.
  • Record of first-author publication(s).
