About the Role
The Associate Underwriter II supports Farm Family agents, policyholders, and underwriters by applying risk-based analysis to underwrite and service business at a policy and account level. This role involves making independent decisions regarding policy rating and discount eligibility, risk selection, and responding to inquiries. Advanced duties may be assigned based on state-specific experience, potentially including large agency assignments or specialized tasks requiring advanced knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite and service business at a policy and account level.
- Make independent decisions regarding rating of policies/accounts and discount eligibility.
- Make decisive risk selections within authority limits to approve, refer, or reject.
- Respond to correspondence including email and telephone inquiries from agents and third parties.
- Identify and address submission requirement issues with agents.
- Correspond with state agencies to update insurance records.
- Present recommendations for improvements to systems and processes.
- Research state specific policies and guidelines.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Close attention to detail.
- Strong decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, in English, both written and verbal.
- Minimum of one year of work experience.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to work on-site at a designated company office during standard business hours.
