About the Role
Lippes Mathias LLP is seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, and organized legal assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate would have a positive team player outlook and eagerness to learn new challenges. You must be highly organized and extremely attentive to details—especially with proofreading your own and other’s written documents.
Responsibilities
- Manage attorney calendars
- Record attorney time and maintain attorney emails
- Create and maintain electronic file directories
- Prepare memoranda for opening new matters
- Assist in the formatting and drafting of legal documents
- Set up meetings by conference call, Zoom, Microsoft Teams or other platforms
- Proofread correspondence and legal documents
- Transcribe dictations
- Prepare and send out transmittal letters
- Perform general office duties as required
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a legal assistant
- Accurate typing speed of 60+ wpm required
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Reliable attendance
- Experience with editing, proofreading, revising, and drafting documents
- High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use discretion and handle confidential information
- Ability to meet deadlines and produce high-quality work product
- Have a pro-active mindset
