About the Role
This is a crucial role within a small team, comprising 70% administration/art collection management and 30% creative art event responsibilities, with additional curatorial tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
- Completing paperwork relating to every acquisition, including raising contracts and processing invoices.
- Assisting artists with activation of memberships, contra upload, and House bookings.
- Responding to existing and new artist inquiries.
- Liaising with artists to obtain detailed information for every artwork.
- Maintaining the art database and internal server, keeping inventory up to date daily.
- Arranging delivery and collections of artworks.
- Liaising with framers, technicians, and logistics partners for installation.
- Using InDesign to create and maintain art maps for the website and create installation plans with the curatorial team.
- Assisting with gathering art-related content for presentations, press, and social media.
- Assisting the Chief Art Director and Head of Art Collection with diary, travel, and administration.
- Providing ad hoc administration support to all team members.
- Attending and supporting art collection events as needed.
- Managing mail outs for events and RSVP capture.
- Researching artists for ‘glow’ events.
- Liaising and supporting artists with the creation of glow events.
- Hosting events with artists, such as speeches, introductions, and panel moderation.
- Providing assistance at art installations on new and existing sites.
- Curating small sites such as Soho Works, restaurants, and studios.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree, arts-related a bonus.
- Minimum 2 years of proven administration experience in a comparable role.
- Experience dealing with artists and artworks.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Database experience.
- InDesign and Photoshop experience.
- Ability to be an excellent collaborator and be self-motivated.
- Public speaking skills.
- Arts management degree is desirable.
- Second language is desirable.
- Experience organizing a large volume of artworks and installations is desirable.
- Event management experience is desirable.
