About the Role
The Service Technician ensures the building is in safe and good working order through general labor, preventative maintenance, and daily repairs.
Responsibilities
- Attend to work orders provided by the Service Manager or Leasing staff in a timely manner and inform them upon completion.
- Assess interior and exterior of properties and buildings for issues needing attention.
- Address minor plumbing issues.
- Address minor HVAC issues.
- Address appliance repairs.
- Repair door, frame, or trim damages.
- Perform painting and patching throughout the buildings.
- Remove snow from sidewalks and parking lots, including holidays and weekends, using snow blowers and Bob Cat machinery.
- Perform landscaping during summer months using lawn mowers and other landscaping tools.
- Remove trash noticed throughout the community.
- Assist with quarterly or monthly inspections.
- Attend staff meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work in compliance with OHSA, regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
- Use or wear required equipment, protective devices, or clothing.
- Report hazards, missing or defective equipment, or protective devices to supervisor.
- Do not engage in prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running, or rough and boisterous conduct.
- Report risks or potential risks of violence or harassment to supervisor immediately.
- Implement safe work practices and procedures for handling materials, equipment, and processes.
- Request replacement of worn out or defective equipment.
- Use equipment and materials only in the manner intended.
- Report injuries, incidents, and unusual conditions to supervisor immediately.
- Inspect work area and equipment daily and report hazards immediately.
- Attend all required health and safety training programs and apply knowledge to daily procedures.
Requirements
- Must be in good physical condition.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Ability to move appliances and furniture.
- Ability to perform repetitive lifting of up to 50lbs.
- Possess cardio vascular endurance for tasks such as snow removal and climbing stairs.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to grip and manipulate basic hand tools and parts.
- Possess hand dexterity and fine motor skills for working with small parts.
- Ability to perform repetitive reaching or working above head.
- Majority of the working day spent standing conducting repairs and maintenance.
- At least three years of related experience including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
Skills
