About the Role

Lead product marketing across a business with multiple products, priority verticals, and two distinct go-to-market motions. Define sharp, differentiated positioning and messaging grounded in customer insight to ensure every campaign, launch, and sales conversation is effective. You will define the product marketing function, hire the team, and personally own one of our priority verticals.

Responsibilities

  • Own positioning and the narrative, defining sharp, differentiated positioning grounded in customer insight and a clear point of view on where Modulr wins.
  • Translate technically rich platform features into messaging that resonates with finance, operations, and commercial buyers.
  • Define the value proposition for each market by building a deep understanding of every vertical served, including buyer profiles, challenges, regulatory and competitive contexts.
  • Conduct constant customer conversations, win/loss analysis, and voice-of-customer work to gather insights and feed them back into positioning, content, and sales conversations.
  • Own one priority vertical personally, serving as the source of truth for its buyers, competitive landscape, and narrative.
  • Manage launch planning and tiering, ensuring enablement and adoption are measured, in close collaboration with the product team.
  • Develop pitches, decks, demo narratives, battlecards, and win stories for the commercial team, based on buyer decision-making processes.
  • Act as the source of truth on the market, synthesizing competitive intelligence, buyer journeys, and market insights to inform product, marketing, and sales decisions.
  • Build and lead the product marketing team by defining vertical seats, hiring talent, and setting craft standards.
  • Integrate AI into team workflows for research synthesis, message testing, and content production by building and implementing AI-driven workflows.

Requirements

  • Own positioning, messaging, and launch tiering end-to-end.
  • Build a persona and messaging system based on real customer research.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills to simplify technically rich products.
  • Genuine curiosity about customers and a proactive approach to seeking them out.
  • Credibility as a senior voice in product and sales discussions, capable of holding a position under pressure.
  • Focus on driving downstream change, such as easier sales conversations and better buyer recognition of messaging.
  • Experience leading or mentoring other product marketers and readiness to build a function.
  • Hands-on approach, willing to lead the team and own a vertical.
  • Real fluency with AI, including building and shipping custom workflows and agents.
  • B2B experience is required.
  • Payments, fintech, or another regulated and technically complex product experience is preferred.
  • Vertical or industry-led go-to-market experience is a significant plus.
  • Experience through the £50–150M ARR band is a plus.
