About the Role

The Center for Alternative Sentencing and Employment Services (CASES) and the NYC Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ) are seeking a Senior Program Manager to develop, implement, and oversee pretrial and diversion programs aimed at reducing jail population and providing necessary supports.

Responsibilities

  • Manage pretrial and alternative to incarceration programs, including continuous management and coordination among non-profit provider organizations, system stakeholders, and city agencies.
  • Cultivate and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders from City and State government agencies, non-profit organizations, prosecutors, defense attorneys, judges, and directly impacted individuals and communities.
  • Facilitate meetings with diverse stakeholders to continually improve and enhance programs.
  • Develop quantitative and qualitative performance metrics for program oversight, quality assurance, policy decisions, and communications.
  • Assist in developing and implementing new interventions to address unmet diversion needs of people with open criminal legal system cases.
  • Implement quantitative and qualitative data reporting templates to track program outcomes.
  • Implement data practices with service provider organizations, including reviewing program data and reporting on progress and outcomes.
  • Manage communications and administrative support, including preparation of meeting materials, responding to stakeholder inquiries, scheduling meetings, and site visits.

Requirements

  • BA in a relevant field required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum four years of full-time professional experience in criminal justice, social services, or a related field (or minimum 3 years with city government or 2 years with MOCJ).
  • Thorough knowledge of the criminal justice system in New York City, including its operations and actors.
  • Demonstrated operational leadership and success in designing and implementing innovative criminal justice programs.
  • Demonstrated project management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement large-scale, long-term strategic plans.
  • Ability to provide thought leadership on emerging concerns, informed by knowledge of criminal justice processes and the New York City criminal justice system.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, problem-solve, prioritize, and work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, meet deadlines, work well under pressure, and use good judgment.
  • Robust oral and written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize information quickly and frame policy issues and data clearly.
