About the Role
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is hiring Security Guards. Security Guards observe activity at their post, report unusual activities to supervisors, and perform routine monitoring and reporting duties following specific guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Report equipment malfunctions that may impact facility security or well-being to supervisors or facility management.
- Verify pedestrian and vehicle authorization for access through an assigned post.
- Monitor CCTVs or similar equipment and report observed irregularities.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Interact with the traveling public and staff with courtesy and professionalism.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Valid Driver's License.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Security Guard/Watchman, Police Officer, The United States Military in a police military security position, or equivalent college credits in Criminal Justice or Police Science.
