About the Role
The Project Director, Preliminary Works is solely responsible for all assigned work packages, ensuring their execution aligns with contractual obligations and Alto's strategic objectives. This role emphasizes a results-oriented approach, prioritizing outcomes over activity management.
Responsibilities
- Assume exclusive responsibility for assigned work packages, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, costs, quality, and contractual commitments.
- Provide leadership and decision-making to achieve project objectives and delivery milestones.
- Monitor performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to meet delivery commitments.
- Drive execution by proactively identifying, reporting, and resolving issues that may impact delivery.
- Mobilize and coordinate cross-functional teams, including technical, commercial, procurement, legal, and finance departments, to remove obstacles and support project execution.
- Foster accountability and collaboration among teams to maintain delivery momentum and achieve results.
- Serve as Alto's primary point of contact with Cadence for assigned work packages.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships to ensure alignment on priorities, performance expectations, and contractual obligations.
- Ensure Alto's commitments are met through effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Implement structured and effective communication channels between Alto and Cadence.
- Provide clear, timely, and decision-oriented updates on delivery progress, risks, and key issues.
- Support governance and executive-level decision-making by ensuring communications are coordinated, consistent, and actionable.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in project management, business administration, engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in project management or a similar role.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is an asset.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Planner, Oracle Primavera).
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
