About the Role
The Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education (CBVRCE) is seeking to fill a leadership position within its school system. The CBVRCE supports approximately 12,000 students across 38 schools, fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment that promotes learning and personal development. Responsibilities
- Assist the Principal in maintaining a positive, safe, and respectful learning and working environment.
- Support the Principal in establishing a school-wide vision focused on high standards and student success.
- Aid the Principal in providing leadership, cultivating leadership in others, and managing people, data, and processes.
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, community, and outside agencies to meet student needs.
- Complete required documents as requested by the Centre and/or the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
- Assist the Principal in identifying staffing needs and selecting staff.
- Help the Principal ensure full and regular attendance of enrolled students.
- Support the Principal in supervising school-based staff, including attendance and performance management.
- Assist the Principal in supporting professional growth through development planning and feedback.
- Help the Principal ensure appropriate evaluation techniques for students and staff.
- Assist the Principal in monitoring systems for organizational tasks like student and teacher records, attendance, purchasing, budgets, and timetables.
- Support the Principal in ensuring school safety and security.
- Assist the Principal in maintaining financial records and ensuring compliance with financial policies.
- Support the implementation of all school, Regional Education Centre, and Department of Education policies and procedures.

- A valid Nova Scotia teacher's license is required.
- A minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience in a public school is required.

Experience Level

- A valid Nova Scotia teacher's license
- A Masters of Education Degree in Instructional/Educational Leadership or a Master's level degree with equivalent leadership education is preferred
Salary/Compensations
- $107,166 to $133,958
