About the Role

This senior-level consultant will act as the technical primary project lead and architect, leveraging strong leadership, business acumen, and communication skills to design and implement data center and network solutions. The role involves leading consultative engagements, assessing network environments, and creating cohesive deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Follow an established methodology and leverage templates.
  • Participate in or facilitate status meetings and report status.
  • Attend required project meetings, including lessons learned.
  • Complete administration, reports, and mandatory compliance training on time.
  • Stay abreast of the latest marketing trends and chief concerns in their profession.
  • Participate in National Practice operations, process improvement, and training calls.
  • Take accountability for professional development and career growth, and share knowledge.
  • Collaborate, confer, and provide consulting services.
  • Manage project activities from client identification through final invoicing.
  • Work on billable consulting service projects.
  • Demonstrate broad product knowledge within a specific discipline.
  • Work independently on highly complex projects or in a team as assigned.
  • Perform technical responsibilities including problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware/software specification/design, implementation, testing, client training, and deployment.
  • Lead all technical aspects of delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping for billing purposes.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts in applicable discipline, plus working knowledge in related fields.
  • Assist less experienced peers when needed.
  • Create recommendations and implement new methods, techniques, and/or procedures.
  • Design and implement solutions for clients using in-depth networking knowledge.
  • Act as the subject matter expert within a specific discipline.
  • Lead an engagement team or be the sole consulting resource on a project.
  • Act as a mentor or coach.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in the planning, design, and implementation of complex networks.
  • Experience in planning, design, and integration of secure network technology.
  • Accomplished at developing Visio designs/diagrams and documenting professional, cohesive deliverables.
  • Verifiable strong ethics, trustworthiness, accountability, and reliability.
  • Resourceful and self-directed.
  • Possess a positive leadership and collaborative teamwork style.
  • Ability to travel for engagement requirements.

Skills

  • Thorough understanding of internetworking technologies and their deployment in complex, global networks.
  • IPv4 and IPv6 experience.
  • WAN and iWAN Expertise – Transport and Access Planning, Design and Deployment Experience.
  • Experience in analysis and selection of transport and access technologies including; MPLS, Private Line, Hybrid WAN, Internet Complex, Ethernet, Internet VPN, DWDM, and wireless.
  • MPLS Integration including MPLS equipment & transport selection, QoS, MPLS IP Routing and MPLS migration planning/transition.
  • LAN Expertise – Planning, Design and Deployment Experience.
  • Experience in equipment selection, sizing and detailed engineered design.
  • Data center expertise including core, distribution and segmentation.
  • Wireless equipment selection, sizing and detailed engineered design.
  • Layer 2 vs Layer 3 segmentation.
  • Virtualization using path segmentation (GRE, VRF-Lite, L3VPN’s, L2VPN’s).
  • IP Routing – Planning, Design & Deployment Experience.
  • IP Routing Protocols – OSPF, BGP, M-BGP, EIGRP capabilities and corresponding configurations.
  • IP Addressing – NAT, DNS/DHCP, Address Summarization as it impacts IP addressing and IP routing.
  • Data Center Expertise – DC Core Network Planning, Design and Deployment Experience.
  • Experience in analysis, design, engineering and deployment of DC core networks built on legacy architectures and fabric enabled architectures.
  • Experience with Load Balancing, DNS/DHCP, NAT, WANx and Proxies.
  • Experience with separation and segmentation technologies (VLAN, VRF).
  • Experience with network virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with Cisco ACI SDN technologies.
  • Network Equipment – Strong knowledge of features, functionality and configurations for Cisco Systems, Nortel, Juniper, Extreme Networks, etc.
  • Firewall design, configuration, network segmentation and implementation experience, such as Cisco ASA, Check Point, Fortinet, etc.
  • Understanding of load-balancing, F5 experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with SDN, Juniper, Velocloud, VMware/Virtualization, and/or IoT is also a significant plus.
  • Very strong leadership, documentation, project management skills.

Salary/Compensations

  • $120,200.00 - $216,200.00 + commission $30,000
