About the Role
The Canadian Tire FP&A team is crucial for maintaining strong financial performance in a dynamic retail landscape. You will collaborate with the Finance team to understand financial results, provide actionable insights, and influence business strategies.
Responsibilities
- Support monthly forecasting and annual budgeting for SC&T cost centers.
- Analyze transportation and logistics costs, identifying trends and variances.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages with variance analysis and commentary.
- Partner with Supply Chain and Transportation operations to understand cost drivers.
- Develop financial models for transportation network costs and initiatives.
- Track key performance indicators for operational efficiency.
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and business cases.
- Support month-end close activities for SC&T costs.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across financial systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or a related finance role.
- Working towards or holding a professional accounting/finance designation (CPA, CFA, or equivalent) is an asset.
- Experience with ERP/financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion) is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Skills
- Strong Excel skills (financial modeling, pivot tables, advanced formulas).
- Experience with Power BI or similar BI tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate data into clear insights.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
