About the Role

The Enterprise Anti-Money Laundering (EAML) Group is responsible for CIBC's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Anti-Terrorist Financing (ATF) regime, including policy development, training, reviews, and investigations. The Consultant, EAML Policy & Regulation, supports the team by assisting with research, stakeholder consultation, and gathering feedback on EAML policies, guidance, and opinions. This role contributes to the management of regulatory changes in Canada by providing research, analysis, and drafting support for AML/ATF policy and regulation activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with research, stakeholder consultation, and gathering feedback on EAML policies, guidance, and opinions.
  • Support the effective management of regulatory changes in Canada by providing research, analysis, drafting briefings, and administrative assistance for policy and regulation activities related to AML and ATF.
  • Contribute to the successful management of regulatory change, industry developments, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Manage the team’s SharePoint and record keeping to ensure strong governance.
  • Apply knowledge of AML/ATF requirements to support policy development and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Support the team and actively participate in group discussions and working sessions.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring information is organized and accessible.
  • Build trust and support stakeholder engagement through effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Assist in preparing clear, concise communications and reports for regulatory changes and policy updates.
  • Understand regulations and how the requirements impact CIBC.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate experience in supporting policy development, conducting research, and providing feedback on AML/ATF-related matters.
  • Experience in applying AML/ATF laws and regulations, and understanding how regulatory requirements are implemented.
  • Passionate about learning and growing knowledge of AML/ATF industry standards and best practices.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, enabling tracking, organizing, and reporting information clearly and accurately.
  • Solid relationship management and interpersonal skills, allowing for building trust and effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Motivated by collective success and thriving in a collaborative, inclusive team environment.
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking skills to inform decision making.
  • Ability to bring your real self to work and live values of trust, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Legally eligible to work at the specified location(s).
  • May be asked to complete an attribute-based assessment and other skills tests.
  • Must have a valid work or study permit where applicable.
