About the Role

The 5th Floor Complex Medicine Unit at Marymount Hospital is a 12-bed telemetry unit caring for adult medical-surgical patients with multiple comorbidities. This role offers frequent opportunities to sharpen assessment skills, recognize subtle changes, and strengthen clinical judgment while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. It is a strong launching point for future goals, offering broad, transferable med-surg and telemetry skills.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care.
Implement and monitor patient care plans.
Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns.
Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program).
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross.
One-year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting.
Will consider licensed military RN experience.
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
You will be required to comply with the influenza prevention program, which will include obtaining an influenza vaccination on an annual basis or obtaining an approved exemption.
