About the Role

The North American Corporate Real Estate Ratings team is seeking a Senior Analyst to support lead analysts in managing credit portfolios, analyzing credits, and publishing credit rating reports. This role involves ongoing analysis, surveillance, and contributing to written reports and commentaries.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate credit analysis with guidance from lead analysts, including financial statement analysis.
  • Maintain financial spreadsheets of debt issuers historic results and financial projections.
  • Develop understanding and experience with legal documentation related to credit analysis.
  • Contribute text and analysis for credit rating reports under supervision of lead analysts with eventual drafting of press releases, credit reports, and commentaries with minimal guidance and errors.
  • Assist with the preparation of rating committee materials.
  • Provide support for research and analysis of major industry trends affecting various asset classes with guidance from lead analysts.
  • Develop an understanding of the core real estate industries.
  • Develop client-communication skills with increasing client interaction over time.
  • Adhere to rigorous regulatory requirements and Morningstar DBRS policies and procedures, which include detailed record-keeping, training, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years related experience.
  • Strong analytical abilities and diligence to details.
  • Extensive understanding of financial statements.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Initiative-taker and collaborator with demonstrated ability to work in a demanding environment.
  • Travel is required.
  • Undergraduate or master’s degree in business, finance, or an analytical field of study.
