About the Role

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a highly motivated Graduate Research Assistant to support the Office of Governmental Affairs & Initiatives. This role involves researching, planning, and executing strategic engagement activities, offering valuable experience at the intersection of policy and higher education. The position provides hands-on experience in executing high-caliber programming and projects by collaborating with stakeholders across campus.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the engagement work of the Governmental Affairs Office, including the planning and execution of programming and multiple events.
  • Regularly updates the CRM database and ensures the accuracy of its records.
  • Monitors local, state, and federal policy as needed.
  • Conducts research and analysis to support various projects.
  • Provides limited administrative support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Currently enrolled, in good standing, as a graduate student at UT.
  • Proficient in event planning and execution.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
