About the Role

The Lowboy Operator drives a tractor and trailer lowboy to locate and relocate heavy equipment, navigating in rural, off-highway, high-traffic roadways, and oil field environments.

Responsibilities

  • Operate tractor and lowboy trailer in accordance with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, and DOT requirements, as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws.
  • Load, transport, and unload heavy equipment at jobsites.
  • Complete all required paperwork properly and within set timelines.
  • Ensure all equipment and components are in good working condition at all times.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment and document checks on standard DVIR.
  • Follow company policies and procedures for routine maintenance.
  • Perform general housekeeping to ensure units are operating properly.
  • Report any inefficiency to the manager.
  • Follow WM policies and procedures while working.
  • Maintain and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings required by WM or Manager.
  • Work closely with Manager to improve efficiencies and identify best practices.
  • Notify Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 6 months to one year of heavy equipment experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
  • Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment screening, including drug screen and physical.
  • Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A with an air brake endorsement.
  • Must have, or be willing to obtain, a REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative.
