About the Role

Own the UX of A1's core app experience, designing end-to-end user flows for AI-assisted tasks. This role requires understanding user needs and AI system behavior to create clear, reliable, and controllable product flows.

Responsibilities

  • Own UX for A1's core app surfaces across iOS, Android, and web.
  • Design complete user flows for AI-assisted tasks, including intent capture, task completion, handoff, progress tracking, and error recovery.
  • Design how the app surfaces AI activity, decisions, and user confirmation needs.
  • Map and design the full range of AI states a user encounters.
  • Work with product, engineering, and ML teams to define user requirements and translate them into design solutions.
  • Conduct usability research to understand user trust, uncertainty, and disengagement.
  • Produce wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity designs.
  • Contribute to the design system and shared UX patterns for AI app surfaces.
  • Design for both simple everyday interactions and complex multi-step AI workflows.

Requirements

  • Experience as a UX designer on consumer mobile or web apps, with a strong portfolio.
  • Solid skills in user flow design, wireframing, and high-fidelity prototyping in Figma.
  • Ability to design for asynchronous, non-deterministic, and context-dependent systems.
  • Clear thinking about user trust, control, feedback, and transparency in AI-driven product experiences.
  • Experience conducting user research and translating findings into design decisions.
  • Comfortable working in fast-moving teams with evolving product scope.
  • Ability to balance simple consumer UX with complex AI system behavior.
  • Good judgment on usability, edge cases, failure handling, and recovery flows.
  • Submit a portfolio as part of the application process.
  • Candidates should expect 2 rounds of interviews and a design assessment.

  • Interviews will be conducted via virtual meetings and/or onsite.
