About the Role

This is a foundational, individual-contributor role where you will own the full partnerships function end to end. You will manage and grow existing relationships and proactively build new ones across a wide partner landscape. As the first dedicated hire, you will build the playbook, decide on partner focus, set up tracking for partner-sourced pipeline, and establish Gradient Labs' reputation as a serious partner. The role has a clear path to hiring and leading a team as the partner motion scales.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow existing partnerships
  • Own day-to-day relationships with current technology and consulting partners
  • Identify mutually valuable expansion opportunities
  • Represent Gradient Labs in partner-facing forums and joint planning sessions
  • Build new partnerships proactively
  • Map, prioritise, and open up the partner landscape across hyperscalers, core banking and financial infrastructure providers, global consultancies and systems integrators, boutique advisory and consulting firms, and BPOs
  • Carry each relationship from cold outreach through to a structured partnership
  • Negotiate and structure partnership terms with legal, sales, and leadership
  • Set up tracking and reporting on partnership impact (sourced and influenced pipeline, co-sell revenue)
  • Create repeatable playbooks by partner type
  • Make the case for hiring the team around you as the function matures

Requirements

  • Experience building or significantly growing a partnerships function, ideally at a B2B SaaS company selling into financial services or another regulated industry
  • Credible managing a hyperscaler alliance and courting a boutique advisory firm
  • Bias for cold outreach and starting relationships from scratch, as well as growing existing relationships
  • Able to structure a partnership agreement and negotiate terms
  • Able to determine when a partnership is worth pursuing vs. a distraction
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and building process where none exists
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
