About the Role

Responsibilities

Own the entire lifecycle of a feature, from understanding customer pains to deployment and impact measurement.
Refine the 'what to build' and 'why' beyond just technical solutions.
Contribute to squad's quarterly goals and long-term vision.
Architect scalable, evolvable systems and data models.
Define and uphold engineering excellence, including CI/CD, testing, and coding standards.
Establish frontend architecture patterns, including state management, performance budgets, and testing.
Engineer sophisticated backend solutions involving API versioning, caching, and data migration.
Lead observability and SRE practices, define SLOs, manage incidents, and conduct post-mortems.
Oversee operational security, including secrets hygiene and dependency risk management.
Level up the engineering organization through mentorship, design reviews, and influencing the product roadmap.
Coordinate multi-team deliverables and align stakeholders to resolve technical blockers.
Leverage AI tools in coding interviews and daily workflows.

Requirements

Experience translating complex business goals into technical roadmaps.
Ability to de-risk ambiguous projects through spikes and prototyping.
Experience architecting scalable, evolvable systems and data models.
Experience defining and upholding engineering excellence.
Experience establishing frontend architecture patterns.
Experience engineering backend solutions.
Experience leading observability and SRE practices.
Experience overseeing operational security.
Experience leveling up the engineering organization through mentorship and influence.
Experience coordinating multi-team deliverables.
Experience with or strong interest in modern AI-augmented workflows.
Must be based within commuting distance of our hubs.
