About the Role
The Administrative Assistant supports the engineering department in day-to-day work, encompassing project creation, document administration, and project billing. The role involves internal and external client interactions, requiring proactive thought and action. We seek independent thinkers motivated to ask questions and help strengthen a successful team of Administrators and Engineers.
Responsibilities
- Be part of a welcoming team of Administrators under the direction of an Engineering Coordinator.
- Administer incoming work through project creation and client communication.
- Assist with the administration of client emails and submissions, taking the initiative to speak to clients by phone whenever possible to streamline communication.
- Ensure proper billing actions are taken and processes followed to support the Engineering Coordinator.
- Work with the ABS Client Portal, understand internal processes for a timely workflow, and educate clients in Portal functionality.
- Proactively ask questions when necessary.
- Support colleagues with surplus work when required.
Requirements
- Valid right to work in the UK.
Skills
- Identify, analyze, and propose solutions to problems.
- Good command of the English language.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management Systems (internal candidates only).
Experience Level
- 0-2 years of previous related experience
