About the Role
We are looking for a Communications Assistant to join our Publicity Team at Penguin General. This role provides general administrative support to the Publicity team to facilitate the smooth running of the department, acts as a point of contact for the press, and supports publicists with book launches.
Responsibilities
- Provide general administrative support to the Publicity team.
- Organise meetings and take minutes.
- Produce and send out press releases.
- Code invoices and process expenses.
- Send out books.
- Act as a point of contact for the press.
- Regularly communicate with journalists and authors.
- Support publicists with their book launches.
- Accompany authors to interviews and events.
- Organise schedules, travel, and accommodation for authors.
- May involve out of hours work on weekends and evenings to attend events and festivals.
Requirements
- Strong personal organisation and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proactive and reactive - ability to multitask and handle competing priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of people on email, phone and in person.
