About the Role

The Peter Munk Cardiac Centre (PMCC) program provides world-class cardiovascular care and is a major referral center. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment using state-of-the-art technology to perform echocardiograms on a complex patient population.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound imaging procedures to aid in patient diagnosis and/or treatment.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and ensure ultrasound, echocardiology/ancillary equipment and instruments are performing efficiently.
• Prepare written and electronic reports to document all procedures and test results.
• Perform other related patient handling responsibilities to facilitate optimal patient care.
• Participate in teaching, educational, research, safety, and quality improvement programs/activities.

Requirements

• Completion of a recognized post-diploma Cardiovascular Principles and Instrumentation (C.P.I.) program.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.), Level II Basic Rescuer Certification.
• Minimum of two (2) years recent cardiac ultrasound experience.
• Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to function effectively in stressful situations.
• Computer literacy required.
• Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
• Registration with Sonography Canada or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
• Must have successfully completed probationary period, have a good employee record, and satisfactory attendance (for current UHN employees).
• A Criminal Record Check may be required.
