About the Role
The Ingest Processor Team is responsible for architecting and maintaining high-throughput data processing pipelines, forming the foundational engine of the Splunk Integrated Data Platform. This role involves defining and driving the technical strategy for ingestion pipelines, leading the design and implementation of mission-critical distributed systems, and elevating engineering standards. It offers a unique opportunity to solve complex distributed systems challenges at an industry-unmatched scale.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the long-term technical strategy for ingestion pipelines.
- Lead the design and implementation of mission-critical distributed systems.
- Partner with product and platform leadership to align engineering initiatives with business requirements.
- Establish best-in-class standards for system design, code quality, and operational excellence.
- Champion the adoption of emerging technologies for large-scale data challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development, with a primary focus on large-scale distributed systems.
- Expert-level proficiency in Go or Java, including a deep, practical understanding of concurrency models and memory management.
- Experience architecting, deploying, and scaling high-volume data processing pipelines systems.
- Experience with cloud-native infrastructure, including Kubernetes, microservices architecture, and distributed storage systems.

Salary/Compensations
- $146,700.00 - $214,800.00 (U.S. and/or Canada)
- $165,000.00 - $277,600.00 (New York City Metro Area)
- $146,700.00 - $247,000.00 (Non-Metro New York state & Washington state)
