About the Role
Neko is redefining preventative care by making data-driven, preventative health accessible. Our mission is to help people live longer, healthier lives through personalized, actionable insights delivered in a single, non-invasive visit. This is a hands-on, autonomous role in our central London laboratories, operating advanced analysers and supporting quality systems to deliver results rapidly.
Responsibilities
- Initialise analysers daily and prepare them for sample processing.
- Perform testing on Abbott Alinity (biochemistry and immunoassay) and Sysmex XN-550 (haematology) analysers.
- Validate patient results and escalate clinically anomalous or unexpected findings.
- Conduct daily calibration, internal quality control, and routine analyser maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and escalate technical issues promptly.
- Work within an ISO 15189-aligned, UKAS-facing quality management system.
- Author SOP updates, monitor EQA performance, and support audits.
- Investigate non-conformances.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives, including analyser verification and reagent evaluation.
- Maintain accurate, auditable records and support performance monitoring.
- Provide technical guidance to clinical colleagues and support training for the lab team.
Requirements
- HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist with evidence of ongoing CPD.
- Minimum one year of post-registration experience in clinical chemistry and immunoassay, including IQC and EQA practice.
- Demonstrable experience operating an integrated clinical chemistry and immunoassay analyser.
- Experience working accurately and efficiently under time pressure in a fast-turnaround service model.
