About the Role

NAMIC, A division of Medline, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. Medline is a large medical-surgical company with a history of growth and a focus on employee development, diversity, work-life balance, and career opportunities. They offer paid training and require no prior experience for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform custodial, groundskeeping, and facility maintenance duties to ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Inspect facilities and conduct minor maintenance on buildings, fixtures, and furnishings.
  • Remove snow and clear entrances and walkways, spreading sand and ice-melting chemicals.
  • Troubleshoot maintenance problems and coordinate repairs and renovations.
  • Manage services provided by outside vendors.
  • Perform general maintenance work including plumbing, electrical, lighting, painting, mechanical, and pressure washing.
  • Conduct general housekeeping such as emptying trash, cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, and sanitizing buildings daily.
  • Process trash removal and manage corrugated scraps with a compactor and baler.
  • Check and secure buildings at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Maintain equipment in functional condition.
  • Perform minor maintenance on buildings.

Requirements

  • Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities including bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, and lifting for extended periods.
  • Must be able to frequently move, lift, and carry supplies/equipment up to 50 lbs, and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours for up to 6 days a week.
  • Must be able to continuously ascend and descend ladders and stairs, work at heights, and work from a lying down position.
  • Must be able to work with hands above head.
  • Ability to work overtime.
  • Must be available for on-call requests as needed.

Skills

  • Physical activities necessary to perform essential functions of the position.
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, lift for extended periods daily.
  • Ability to continuously ascend and descend from ladders and stairs.
  • Work at heights and/or from a ladder.
  • Work from a lying down position.
  • Work with your hands above your head.
