About the Role
As a Mechanical EIT, you will support the design and delivery of mechanical building systems, working closely with Engineers and multidisciplinary teams. You’ll gain hands-on experience across all phases of a project—from concept through to construction—while building a strong technical foundation in HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection
- Develop drawings using AutoCAD and support REVIT-based projects
- Perform calculations and support system sizing and selection
- Prepare schematics, riser diagrams, equipment schedules, and engineering reports
- Coordinate designs with architectural, electrical, and structural teams
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Support the preparation of specifications and contract documentation
- Attend client meetings and internal coordination meetings
- Participate in site reviews and construction meetings
- Review shop drawings and assist with responding to RFIs, CCNs, and SIs
- Conduct site audits and verify existing conditions
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, high-performing environment
- Take initiative in your professional development and pursue your P.Eng. designation
- Manage your time effectively across multiple projects and deadlines
- Contribute ideas and support continuous improvement within the team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Registered or working toward registration as an EIT
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, etc.) is an asset
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication—both written and verbal
- A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
