About the Role

The Opioid Overdose Prevention Program Community Coordinator will manage the HRA Opioid Overdose Prevention Program, including providing training, technical assistance, and supplies to prevent overdose and improve access to prevention services. This role involves monitoring and reporting on all program activities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Opioid Overdose Prevention Program director to plan, implement, coordinate, monitor, report on, and evaluate the HRA community Naloxone distribution program.
• Provide Overdose Response and Naloxone administration training to HRA and HASA staff, contracted vendors, and clients, including recruitment, attendance tracking, certification, and reporting.
• Order, distribute, and manage inventory of naloxone kits, documenting distribution according to guidelines.
• Develop reports on Overdose Response and Naloxone Training and Distribution for submission to the NYS Department of Health, NYC Department of Health, and in accordance with LL225 reporting requirements.
• Collect overdose response and naloxone administration data from HRA and HASA staff and contracted vendors, document in a central database, and report on overdose reversal and naloxone administration to NYS and NYC health departments and city reports as required.
• Provide resources and training for HRA staff on evidence-based overdose prevention interventions.
• Participate in cross-agency overdose prevention meetings and workgroups.

Requirements

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community-centered activities in an area related to the duties described.
• High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community-centered activities in an area related to the duties described.
• Education and/or experience equivalent to the above.
• All candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in the baccalaureate degree requirement.
