About the Role

The Asset & Capital Management (A&CM) Division at NYCHA is seeking a Senior Advisor to the Vice President of Strategic Services. This role supports the execution and implementation of priorities across four key business service teams, focusing on strengthening operational effectiveness and value-added services within the division.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Vice President in executing a cohesive strategy to enhance the operational effectiveness of all teams within the Strategic Services Department.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of initiatives aimed at improving data utilization, technological integration, and service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of strategic plans, initiatives, and performance improvement efforts within the department.
  • Foster teamwork and accountability among team leads and stakeholders.
  • Synthesize operational technicalities pertaining to contract utilization and construction schedules.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Vice President and business units across A&CM, ensuring clear communication of strategic objectives, priorities, and directives.
  • Facilitate cross-functional and cross-divisional coordination as necessary to advance key initiatives and address operational challenges.
  • Provide project management support for key initiatives led by the Vice President.
  • Organize meetings, prepare agendas, and track action items for projects ranging from capital planning to business intelligence.
  • Assist in monitoring project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful implementation.
  • Escalate business implications and risk to the Vice President.
  • Assist in gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing data relevant to the department's strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to enhanced data-driven decision-making and performance monitoring.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college with a major in public administration, business administration, economics, political science, urban planning, law or communication and four years of satisfactory, full-time, paid experience in the area of management, research or policy development in a large public housing agency, at least eighteen months of which must have been in administrative or executive capacity.
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to the above.
  • Must possess eighteen months of administrative or executive experience.
  • Candidates with permanent civil service status in the titles of Administrative Staff Analyst and Administrative Housing Development Specialist will also be considered.
  • NYCHA employees applying for transfer, promotional, title or level change opportunities must have served a period of one year at current location and in current title and level (if applicable).
