About the Role
We are seeking a Performance Architect to optimize our high-performance C++ ad-serving engine, focusing on fighting latency and mastering distributed systems.
Responsibilities
- Hunt for microseconds and optimize the hot path of the ad-serving engine.
- Ensure response times remain lightning-fast, even during peak traffic.
- Evolve the architecture to handle transactional scale.
- Tackle the CAP theorem in real-world scenarios.
- Architect the use of NoSQL for fetching complex targeting data without impacting latency.
- Establish C++ best practices for maintainability and hardware utilization.
Requirements
- Understand how the compiler thinks.
- Leverage modern C++.
- Dominate memory layouts and cache hits.
- Make the terminal your home.
- Use perf, gdb, valgrind, and strace as primary tools.
- Build systems that operate on more than one server.
- Understand the pitfalls of distributed locks.
- Use HTTP, JSON, and XML efficiently for high-performance logic.
- Demonstrate a portfolio, side project, or demo repo showcasing production-ready code.
