About the Role

Vinted’s Revenue domain is scaling fast, and our Ads business is on a mission to develop a world-class advertising ecosystem. We are looking for a Staff Decision Scientist to act as a technical lead and crucial counterpart to our Data Science Lead, focusing on measurement, evaluation, and decision frameworks for advertising products.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Ads decision measurement framework, creating analytical frameworks to evaluate major Ads decisions.
  • Develop tradeoff frameworks and guardrails to balance ads revenue against marketplace health.
  • Define measurement and evaluation methodology, establishing standards for A/B testing, incrementality, attribution, and sparse data scenarios.
  • Govern the Ads metric tree, ensuring clear definition and consistent interpretation of metrics.
  • Measure marketplace impact, translating risks into measurable signals for ads' effect on user experience and retention.
  • Partner on data and measurement readiness with Analytics Engineering to define scalable data models.
  • Align cross-functional strategies by turning ambiguous questions into quantifiable inputs and analytical frameworks.

Requirements

  • Advertising publishing and marketplace knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and causal inference judgment.
  • High ambiguity tolerance and ability to bring structure to complex problems.
  • Experience designing measurement methodologies in imperfect environments.
  • Strong product and business sense, with ability to convert signals into quantifiable inputs.
  • Ability to influence senior cross-functional stakeholders through clarity and rigorous data.
  • Experience in domains balancing short-term revenue gains against ecosystem health and long-term value.
  • Experience creating decision frameworks for complex, real estate utilization tradeoffs.
  • Structured, meticulous way of working when navigating high-complexity scopes.
  • Conscious team player who proactively aligns with engineering, product, design, and commercial counterparts.
  • Solid written and spoken English.
