About the Role
The Manager of Nursing Services coordinates daily activities of Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses, providing nursing services, consultation, and clinical supervision. This role oversees nursing staff, ensuring compliance with regulations and the health and safety of individuals at CDS Monarch.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical supervision to RNs and LPNs.
- Assist in completion of performance measures and participate in employment decisions for RNs and LPNs.
- Ensure all initial and annual Nursing Assessments are provided on all individuals.
- Ensure annual/bi-annual medication reviews are provided for all program participants.
- Train and oversee the administration of prescribed medications to individuals, review of physicians’ orders.
- Coordinate the provision of information and referral to medical or mental health providers, and other clinical providers as needed.
- Participate in follow-up for incident management, audit results, and internal reviews.
- Participate and lead clinical meetings as needed by supervisor.
- Serve on assigned committees (HRC, MERC, MRC, QMOC, Compliance Committee, etc.)
- Maintain all required documents per Agency policy and procedures.
- Coordinate and provide required education and training to staff including medication certification, new employee orientation, and specific nursing needs.
- Assist in maintenance and updating all nursing policy and procedures as needed.
- Ensure all new nurses are trained on Agency policy and procedures.
- Coordinate the schedule and complete regular nursing audits, ensuring proper oversight and support of the clinical staff.
- Perform all other necessary duties relevant to the position as requested by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Must be licensed and currently registered as a Registered Nurse by the State of New York State Education Department.
- Three years’ supervisory experience is preferred, 1 year required.
- Specialized training or one year of professional experience in treating the developmentally disabled.
- Ability to work independently and motivate others.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Adhere to all CDS Life Transitions, Inc. policies and procedures.
- Adhere to the Agency Mission, Vision, Shared Values, and Customer Service Standards.
- Attend mandatory education and training modules as scheduled; obtain and maintain all required certifications/training by State regulations and CDS policy.
- Act as a professional representative of CDS Life Transitions, Inc. in regard to appearance, behavior, temperament, communication, language, and dress.
- Sedentary working environment.

- Able to use hand repetitive action for fine manipulating, keyboarding and typing.
