About the Role

United Health Services (UHS) is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for the Department of Neurosurgery at UHS Wilson Medical Center. This new role is open due to department growth and will provide health care services to patients under the direction and responsibility of a physician. The candidate will join a team of 5 Neurosurgeons and 7 APPs in a high-functioning practice performing over 1,200 cases annually.

Responsibilities

Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
Administers and orders diagnostic tests and interprets the test results for deviations from normal.
Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens and health maintenance.

Requirements

Preference for previous Neurosurgery or Spine Surgery experience.
Preferred credentials are ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support).
Will provide courses upon employment.

$143,100 - $167,000
