About the Role

The Transition Manager is responsible for the end-to-end transition process for Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) schemes, including managing individual schemes and developing transition management processes. PRT is a division within M&G Life focused on designing and delivering bulk purchase annuities and alternative de-risking products for Defined Benefit pension schemes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the transition process of buy-in schemes into the business and the transition from buy-in to buy-out, including attaching Defined Contribution benefits.
  • Oversee the data verification and post-sales pricing process.
  • Perform data validation and quality assurance checks on scheme data, collaborating with Operations and clients to resolve issues.
  • Participate in external sales presentations and support the Origination team.
  • Produce and manage transition plans with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary internal contact for all queries related to agreed schemes.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to resolve complex queries.
  • Own the residual risk due diligence process.
  • Support the broader team with new initiatives and propositions.

Requirements

  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong data analysis and validation skills with the ability to identify and investigate data quality issues.
  • Experience interpreting and validating Defined Benefit pension scheme data.
  • Financial Services & Insurance knowledge, particularly around defined benefit pension de-risking, with profits, longevity swaps, and investment solutions (including Defined Contribution investment solutions).
  • Experience with due diligence processes and procedures.
  • Experience transitioning data from Pension Schemes to Insurers, Insurer to Insurer transfers, and across administration platforms.
  • High degree of honesty, integrity, and discretion.
