About the Role

As a Lead Software Engineer on the AI and Machine Learning Data Platforms team, you will be an integral part of an agile team enhancing, building, and delivering market-leading technology products. You will conduct critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas to support business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond conventional approaches.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code and review/debug code written by others.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to probe architectural designs and technical credentials.
  • Provide technical leadership on data projects across engineers, product managers, and stakeholders.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
  • Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
  • Apply knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve value realized by automation.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Demonstrable strength in a cloud-based engineering environment.
  • Advanced Python; additional programming languages are a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Good understanding of databases and data structures.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
  • Practical cloud-native experience.
